Get ready to sweat!
The Mystic Circle is sponsoring rock climbing at Planet Granite in Sunnyvale on TBD..
You will need to complete a waiver form for each daughter before you can use the facility. You can fill it out when you get there, OR save lots of time if you print this at home and then bring it with you- your choice.
All climbers need appropriate clothing and safety gear, including:
Once there, you may climb with any certified belayer (all the belayers are volunteers from our Expedition). Belayers will have a red belaying certification card attached to their harness.
The Expedition will be providing snacks, but it's a good idea to bring along your own water bottle.
You may continue climbing after the Sierra Expedition event as long as the facility is open.

Planet Granite is located at 815 Stewart Drive in Sunnyvale. You can follow the link to get directions to the Sunnyvale facility.
Expedition dads get to "belay" while the daughters climb. Belaying is not hard work- it basically consists of holding the safety rope while the climber climbs.
Belayers have to be trained and certified by Planet Granite. After you are trained and pass their test, they issue you a "red card" showing that you're a certified belayer.
Last year, most of our belaying dads had their red/white cards yanked, so we'll need to get a number of dads certified.
Navigators- please get an accurate count of how many dads and girls will be attending so we don't pay for an excessive number of certifications.
