Expedition Officers

Like each circle, the Expedition has a Navigator, Compass Bearer, Treasure Keeper, and Log Keeper. The Expedition also has a Naturalist. Officers serve for a full school year. The Compass Bearer usually becomes the next Navigator, and the Naturalist usually becomes the next Compass Bearer.

Expedition Officers' Duties

The Navigator runs the monthly expedition meetings and oversees the affairs of the expedition. The Compass Bearer schedules the campout venues and puts together the campout handout. The Treasure Keeper collects the expedition fees and orders and distributes the expedition event patches. The Log Keeper edits the expedition newsletter and/or the expedition web site. The Naturalist runs the campout program and orchestrates its pyrotechnics. The Scout assists in recruitment of new members and formation of new circles.

Anyone interested in serving as an expedition officer should contact the Expedition Navigator for more information.

Expedition Officer Meetings Calendar

All circle navigators and compass bearers are requested to attend monthly expedition officers meetings.
Ordinarily, these are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month, September through May.
Meetings are held at 7:00 PM at the JJ Magoo's Pizza Parlor, 15525 Los Gatos Blvd, Los Gatos.
At least one officer from each circle should be present.
NOTE: Pizza at the meetings is no longer subsidized by the Expedition!
