2008 Sierra Expedition Dress Up Dance

Dress Up Dance (Friday, February 1, 2008)

Greetings!

The Zephyr and  Ponderosa circles wish to invite you to the Valentine's Dress Up Dance.

The dance will be held at the Saratoga Community Center (the same venue as the square dance) on Friday, February 2nd.  The dance will start at 7:00 PM and finish at 9:00 PM.

The community center is adjacent to Saratoga City Hall and the community theatre, across the street from the Saratoga main Post Office.  It's accessible from Allendale Ave., just west of where it crosses Fruitvale Ave. Freeway access is either from the Saratoga Avenue exit from I-85, or from Highway 9.

The event is like a prom night for the girls.  Dads should wear a suit and tie or tuxedo. Many circles take their princesses out to dinner prior to the dance as well.

Once again, you can purchase boutonieres and wrist-let corsages for the dance.   The prices are $7.00 for the boutonniere and $13.00 for the wristlets.  You can order these by sending an email to Jim Pyle to order ahead or letting your circle officers know.  Please respond quickly, as orders must be placed with the florist by January 26th.

We will have a DJ, and there will be a photographer present to take individual photos as well as photos of each circle.  Individual pictures are $20 each.  The photos of the circles will be paid for by the expedition.

Circle food responsibilities are:
Chinook: plates/forks/spoons/napkins
Paradise: veggie trays
Ponderosa: clean-up
Mystic: cakes
Shasta: cookies
Tahoe:
water/drinks
Tioga: fruit trays
El Dorado: cookies
Zephyr:
set-up

Notes for hosting this event:

When cleaning up, we need to check for general cleanliness of bathrooms, kitchen area, and the foyer. There is a deposit that could be withheld if we leave too big a mess. So far, the staff has been very good about dealing with it, and we have not been charged.
