Kite Fly

Web site posting when Kite Fly was held at Sunnyvale Baylands (2004)

Next Event - Kite Fly

The Shasta and Tahoe Circles invite you and your family to join us for an afternoon of Kite Flying and Greek delicacies at Sunnyvale Baylands Park from 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 2nd.  We'll be located at the sites Bay Breeze 1 and Bay Breeze 2.

Sunnyvale Baylands Park is located in northern Sunnyvale at the southernmost edge of San Francisco Bay, a venue known for its breezy conditions.  The Park borders natural grassland and wetlands and includes large open areas and trails, great for an afternoon of fun. We'll fly kites all afternoon and award each princess a participation prize at the end of afternoon.

The Tahoe's Mike Ioannou will serve BBQ souvlaki on a stick or in pita bread with white garlic cucumber sauce on the side.  Be advised to eat a light lunch before heading over to the Park.  We'll also have hot dogs, potato salad, fruit salad and drinks.

Parking at Baylands Park is limited so we encourage tribes to carpool to the event.  Print out this Parking Pass and present it at the Park entrance for pre-paid parking.  If you do not bring a Parking Pass, you will be charged $4.00 at the Park entrance.  Also please note that in order to protect wildlife, pets and balloons are not allowed at the Park.

Remember to bring your vests and we'll see you at the Park!

Directions and a map to the Park can be found at:

Further information about the Park is available on the Park's main web site at:

Next Event - Family Kite Fly

The Tahoe and Shasta circles invite all Salinan braves and princesses (and their families) to attend a Kite Fly on Sunday, March 24th from 3:00 PM to sunset. Bring your kites and make offerings to the wind god!

The Gateway Pavilion Group Area and the adjacent Blossom Valley Group Area have been reserved for our use. There is a $4 charge per vehicle to get into the park.

The schedule for the day will be as follow:

     3:00 PM   Kite Flying
     4:30 PM   Awards

Directions

Vasona Park is entered from Blossom Hill Road in Los Gatos.  From highway 17, exit at Los Gatos - Saratoga Road (highway 9). Head toward Saratoga and turn right on University Avenue. Turn right again on Blossom Hill and the park entrance will be on your left at a traffic light (just after the Oak Meadow Park entrance).

Bear to the right after you enter the park and the two reserved areas will appear on your right.

Hear are maps to the park and to the reserved areas in the park. NOTE: The map to the park incorrectly labels Saratoga-Los Gatos Road in one place as Saratoga Avenue.
