Welcome!
Welcome to the web site of the Sierra Expedition of the YMCA Adventure Guides program for the 2011-2012 season.
We are affiliated with the Southwest YMCA in Saratoga, California.
If you are interested in participating in this program, please refer to the attachment here or contact one of the individuals listed in the 'Contacts' section below.
Overview
The YMCA program is for daughters (K-4th Grade, 5th Grade optional) and their fathers. Our objective is to provide an environment within which daughters and their fathers can spend meaningful time together and also have fun.
For additional information about the program, please review our simple summary and this YMCA document.
There is also a YMCA web site for this program.
To register, print out the Sierra Expedition Registration forms 2011-2012 and the YAG Registration form 2011.
Please fill out both forms and bring them (and your checkbook) to your first circle meeting.
The expedition is organized into circles that hold monthly meetings in the homes of their members.
In addition, the expedition also sponsors monthly expedition events(such as campouts, dances, and skating) that all members are invited to attend.
Give to the Y
Care. Contribute. Create.
Care about the future. Help give thousands of individuals and families the opportunity to enrich their lives through Y programs and services! Without your support, many people who benefit most from our programs and services might not be able to participate.
Your gift ensures the Y remains accessible to everyone—regardless of their ability to pay.
Contribute to the Y. One hundred percent of your contribution provides financial assistance and supports critical programming at the Y. You can contribute in a number of ways, including online for our annual Community Support Campaign (encrypted page).
Create a stronger community. Through many opportunities for giving, children can build self-esteem and discover personal talents at the Y.
Teens can connect with peers and positive adult role models while learning leadership skills.
Adults can develop new friendships and feel more connected in the entire community.
News
The Southwest YMCA has started a Trailblazers expedition. It is in effect a follow-on program for 5th to 7th grade boys and girls and their dads.
However, the new Quicksilver Expeditiondoes include some 4th graders, as well as some who were never in the Adventure Guides program.
